APPTA is a small producers association that was founded in 1987. Today, the association consists of 600
families producers of which 80% are indigenous Bribri or Cabecar and 20% are black and white. 38% of the members of the association are women. We work with 55 different communities in the southern region of the Caribbean in Costa Rica, known as Talamanca. Specializing in organic agriculture and sustainable development, we provide tools for conservation and sources of income for the Talamancan people.
